The Cost of Using the Wrong Tool!

Maslow’s Hammer

Maslow’s Hammer

I started noticing something uncomfortable; I was resenting going to work, not because I hated the job, but because nothing was changing.

Same mindset. Same routines. The same way of solving problems. Same day on repeat.

I was showing up, putting in the effort, ticking the boxes… yet quietly feeling stuck.

It wasn’t a lack of discipline or motivation.
It was a lack of adaptation.

I wasn’t stuck because I wasn’t trying; I was stuck because I kept using the same way of thinking and working for a situation that needed a different approach.

When all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail.

A new task at work? You hammer it.
A new workout? You hammer it.
Something feels broken? You hammer harder.

That’s the idea behind Maslow’s Hammer.

Just because a tool worked before doesn’t mean it’s the right tool for every situation.

We fall into this trap because habits feel safe. Familiar approaches give us a sense of control. And often, they do work, until they don’t.

Not every problem in life is a nail, and not every situation requires more force.

Sometimes the issue isn’t effort, it’s approach.

If something in your life isn’t moving the way you want it to, the answer isn’t always to push harder. Sometimes the smarter move is to step back, reassess, and reach for a different tool altogether.

What worked in one season won’t always work in the next.

Being smart isn’t about using the same tool better.

It’s about knowing when to change tools.

INSIGHTS

The Real Life Tarzan

I’ve been following Paul Rosolie for some time now.

His story is just remarkable. He left the U.S.A when he was just 18 years old and ventured into the Amazon jungle, where he found a passion for wildlife and conservation.

What he is doing with Jungle Keepers is nothing short of incredible.

This episode has it all.

Gripping stories, great visual entertainment, and real-life snakes!

Yes, you heard that right. Snakes in the studio!

Make sure not to miss this episode; it is well worth it. I recommend watching this one, not just listening on audio.

Enjoy!

Play Your Hand

Always play the hand you have, not the hand you think you have.

Garry Tan

You don’t get to choose the cards you are dealt, but you can choose how you play them.

When you play a hand you think you have, you make bad decisions:

  • You overcommit

  • You burn out

  • You delay action waiting for “better cards”

Playing the hand you have means:

  • Adjusting goals to your current capacity

  • Building from where you are, not where you want to be

  • Removing shame from the process

Honesty beats ambition without awareness.

They Were Wrong About Fasting

Eggs used to be “bad” for us. Now they’re considered one of the best things you can eat!

It’s hard to keep up with what’s actually true anymore.

I’ve always been a fan of fasting and the benefits it can bring: mental clarity, cognitive improvement, and fat loss.

Lately, I’ve been trying a new approach to get lean and target belly fat. I eat my first meal after 12:00 PM and don’t stress too much about when I have my last meal (usually before 8:00 PM).

This gives me the flexibility to fast for 15–18 hours without being too rigid, and after a month of doing it, I can say it’s working for the purpose I’m doing it.

I’ve always believed in doing what works for you, but this video really caught my attention.

Thomas DeLauer breaks down what actually happens to your body during each phase of a fast and debunks a bunch of common myths, like:

  • Fasting causes muscle loss

  • It slows down your metabolism

  • You need to eat every few hours to stay healthy

If you’ve ever been curious about what fasting really does to your body, this is a great place to start.

Ambitious Question
