T-Shaped Thinking

T-Shaped Thinking

Imagine trying to put together a bookshelf with nothing but one tool, a butter knife.

“How hard can it be, right?”

Ten minutes in, sweating.
Twenty minutes in, the screws are stripped.
Thirty minutes in, the bookshelf looks like a bad Jenga game.

Soon you will realize you are about to learn a valuable lesson: you don’t need every tool in the world, but you do need the right one.

That’s the essence of what’s called T-Shaped Thinking. Imagine your skills as a toolbox. Inside, you’ve got your power drill, the one thing you’re really good at. This is your depth.

Maybe it’s teaching. Or design. Or coaching. Or writing. It’s the thing that feels natural, the thing you could spend hours on, the thing people come to you for.

Then there are your other tools, the screwdrivers, tape measure, level. You’re not a master at those, but you know how to use them well enough to get the job done, or work alongside someone who does. That’s your breadth.

The rest of the tools represent your ability to collaborate, communicate, and connect across different skills and situations.

Here’s why this matters:
If you only have a drill, you might try to drill your way through problems that require a softer touch.

But if you only have a bunch of screwdrivers and no drill, you’ll always feel like you’re improvising, never fully hitting your stride.

The sweet spot is being T-shaped. Deep in one area, broad in a few.

That’s what makes you valuable, adaptable, and impactful in a world that’s constantly shifting.

So here’s something to reflect on this week:

  • What’s your power drill? The one thing you’d bet on if everything else was stripped away.

  • What are your supporting tools? The skills you don’t have to master, but want to understand, enough to collaborate, contribute, and create something greater.

You don’t need a massive toolbox. Just the right tools, well cared for, and ready when you need them.

When you’ve got the right gear, you stop fixing things like an amateur, and start building like a pro.

Where in your life are you using a butter knife when what you really need is a power drill?

INSIGHTS

Herbs For Parasites

Do you ever feel exhausted, foggy, or dealing with some mystery symptoms even after “doing everything right”?

The missing clues may be in lab tests your doctor never orders.

Double-board-certified physician Dr. Paul Saladino, author of The Carnivore Code, teams up with functional-medicine sleuth Evan Brand.

Evan Brand is a super-approachable functional-medicine practitioner who’s pored over 5,000 advanced lab panels, making him one of the most seasoned “hidden-stress detective” docs around.

What the video’s about:
Evan walks us through the specialty tests your regular check-up skips—parasites, mold, heavy metals, Lyme, EMFs—and shows how spotting these culprits can turn chronic fatigue, gut drama, or kids’ behavior issues completely around.

Key Topics They Discuss

  • Parasites show up in 4 out of 5 test kits.

  • Herbs often beat antibiotics for stubborn gut bugs.

  • Bad microbiome = wrecked deep-sleep cycles.

  • Glyphosate tears holes in your gut lining.

  • Simple binders (charcoal, clay) pull toxins out safely.

  • Pee tests (OAT) flag yeast, mitochondria, and more.

  • Mold detox helped reverse one child’s autism symptoms.

  • “Test, don’t guess” before adding another supplement.

Why you should hit play:
If you’ve cleaned up your diet yet still feel off, or you guide others who do, this chat shows how deeper data can finally connect the dots and put you (and your family) on a clearer path to real, lasting energy.

MOTIVATION

Energy And Attention

Energy flows where attention goes.

Tony Robbins

Focus isn’t about discipline.

It’s about deciding what doesn’t deserve your attention.

Reverse Bucket List

The Reverse Bucket List

We’re always chasing the next big thing, new countries to visit, goals to crush, skills to learn. The world throws endless “bucket list” inspiration at us, and let’s be honest, it’s exciting (and a little overwhelming).

But when was the last time you turned around and looked at the list you’ve already lived?

Enter: the Reverse Bucket List.

Instead of what you want to do, it’s a celebration of what you have done, big or small.

The friendships you’ve built. The fears you’ve faced. That time you danced barefoot at 2am or the nights you laughed until your ribs ached, these moments deserve a victory lap.

This isn’t about bragging, it’s about remembering that you’re already living a life worth being proud of.

Press pause, flip through your personal highlight reel, and you’ll realize how rich your story already is.

That quick dose of gratitude fuels confidence, calms the FOMO, and reminds you that life isn’t just about the horizon ahead, it’s also about savoring the view right where you’re standing.

Ambitious Question

If your attention is your most valuable currency, what are you currently overpaying for?
