The Focus of Control

The Focus of Control Model

On the left side, we have things that matter.

This is the important stuff in life, like your health, relationships, and personal development.

On the right, there are things you can control

These are your actions, decisions, and how you respond to situations.

Where these two circles meet in the middle is where the magic happens.

This sweet spot includes the things that matter and are within your control. This is where you should focus all of your energy.

Often, we get caught up worrying about things that don’t truly matter or that we have zero control over. Things like other people’s opinions, random events, or past mistakes that we cannot change.

This causes negative emotional states such as stress, anxiety, and regret. These only drain your energy and keep you from focusing on what makes a difference in your life.

Letting go of what you can't control or what doesn’t matter is not only liberating, but it frees up space to focus on the things in life that bring your fulfillment and joy.

That’s where real progress, peace, and growth happen.

What are you giving energy to that you can’t control and won’t matter in a few days, weeks, or months from now?

INSIGHTS

Comfortability Breeds Complacency

I recently revisited my YouTube channel after a very long lengthy layoff and stumbled across an old video that resonated with me.

I have an incredible life where I live currently.

I have the means to do what I want. I have a great community, awesome friendships and I have a great job.

What I keep realizing though, is that after some time I start to get too comfortable with my surroundings and this leads to becoming complacent.

I find myself slipping back into old habits from time to time which starts to slowly hinder my progress.

The trick I found to keep myself engaged and stay on track is to become curious and try new things.

Not only does this drive ambition, but it will also build new found confidence.

Try a new hobby, take on a new challenge, or get out of your comfort zone.

I’d love to hear if you have ever had a similar situation of complacency in your life. Feel free to shoot a reply to this email.

MOTIVATION

Become Unstoppable

Beware of overconcern for money, position or glory. Someday you will meet a man who cares for none of these things. Then you will know how poor you are.

Too often people are focused on money, status, or power. These things certainly don’t bring fulfillment in the long term.

Focus on building the ultimate version of yourself.

Mindset, education, character, personality, transparency, integrity.

You become unstoppable when you work on things that people can’t take away from you.

Contrast Water Therapy

Water Contrast Therapy

I have been experimenting with contrast water therapy for the last 2 months and I absolutely love it!

Imagine you’re at a party where everyone is dancing. Suddenly, the DJ switches the music from a slow song to an upbeat tune and everyone shifts gears!

Contrast water therapy is a bit like that because it alternates between hot and cold water which invigorates your body, boosts circulation, and enhances recovery.

Here’s how it works:

  • Cold Water: Energizes the body and constricts blood vessels which boosts blood circulation.

  • Hot Water: Relaxes your muscles, open blood vessels, and promotes circulation.

Benefits of contrast water therapy:

  • Improved Circulation: The alternating temperatures help pump blood throughout your body, improving oxygen and nutrient delivery.

  • Muscle Recovery: It reduces soreness and helps muscles recover faster after a workout.

  • Increased Energy: The invigorating cold water boost can make you feel more awake and alert and can last for hours after you get out.

  • Stress Relief: Hot water calms your mind and body, while cold water stimulates the release of endorphins, reducing stress and improves your mood.

  • Skin Health: The temperature changes can help tighten and improve skin tone, leaving you feeling fresh and rejuvenated.

People forget that our vascular system should also be treated like a muscle. It needs to be trained or it gets weaker!

Tip: Always start and end in the cold pool!

Starting and ending contrast water therapy with cold water enhances circulation, promotes faster recovery, boosts energy and mood, and helps regulate body temperature better.

Give it a try and let me know what you think.
