Eat That Frog!
"Eat That Frog" is a simple yet powerful concept to help tackle procrastination.
Imagine you have a list of things to do, and the “frog” is the biggest, toughest task on that list, the one you’re most likely to avoid.
The idea is that if you "eat the frog" first thing in the morning (or as early as possible), everything else will feel easier.
Here are some actionable steps to get you started:
Identify Your Frog: At the end of each day, write down the most important and challenging task you need to do tomorrow. That’s your “frog.”
Tackle It First: The next morning, before doing anything else, dive straight into your frog task. Avoid distractions and just focus on getting it done.
Break It Down: If the task feels overwhelming, break it into smaller steps, but start with the hardest or most crucial part first.
Reward Yourself: Once you’ve eaten the frog, give yourself a little reward such as a break, a snack, or simply the satisfaction of crossing it off your list.
Repeat Daily: Make this a habit. Each day, identify your frog the night before and eat it first to set a productive tone for the rest of your day.
By facing your most challenging task head-on, you free up mental space and set a positive tone for the rest of your day.
Once that big task is done, you’ll feel accomplished and ready to tackle anything that comes next.
